Join us Tuesday, October 23, at 7:00 pm in the Community Meeting Room for the story of Gaines Snyder, prisoner of war during WW II, presented by his son, Mike Snyder. Gaines Snyder was living the good life aboard a US Navy Submarine Tender, the USS Canopus, when the Japanese attacked the Philippines and made him a prisoner of war for three years and 59 days. He was one of the lucky ones, though, because most of his shipmates never made it home. This tale of determination and survival will be of interest to all ages.
