If you've ever flown, there is a good chance that the ice p rotection system on your aircraft was first tested in the Icing Research Tu nnel (IRT) at NASA Glenn Research Center, the first and one of the largestrefrigerated tunnels in the world.  Dr. Judith VanZante will discussthe historical roots of the IRT, from its inception during World War II t hrough its critical importance today for safety of flight.
