(June 6, 2014) Celebrate the start of your child's vacation from school by coming to the first of eight BOOK BLAST programs of the summer today, June 6 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm.  Our summer reading theme for 2014 is FIZZ BOOM READ so we will start off with a bang or two or three!  Our guest presenter, Steve Walters, Minerva High School's dynamic chemistry teacher, has promised to thrill everyone with a few explosions and other fascinating chemical reactions!  Each child 18 and under will receive a free lunch which will be served beginning at 11:45.  Bring along a picnic blanket for your family to sit on while they eat and are entertained by stories and our special guest.  No prior registration is required!

A reminder that the library will be closed this Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.    No library materials are due on any day that the library is closed.  We hope you enjoy a relaxing day with family and friends and travel safely.

The library will open at noon on Friday, March 28, following a morning of staff in-service training. 

(March 6, 2014)  Join us Tuesday evening, March 11, at 7:00 for an evening of song and history.  Steve Ball will perform Civil War-era songs on vintage guitars from original sheet music.  It's a fun and informative evening for the whole family.  The program accompanies the Ohio and the Civil War exhibit on display at the library now through March 26.  The program is free and open to all

(February 17, 2014)  This afternoon two sprinkler heads burst behind the Adult Services Desk.  The library will be closed Tuesday, February 18, while we clean up.  The library will open as usual at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 19.  No library materials checked out from the Minerva Public Library are due on any day that the library is closed. 

(February 5, 2014) The library is closed today, Wednesday, February 5, due to the inclement weather and uncertain road conditions.  The library will open tomorrow, Thursday, February 6, at 10:00 am.  No library materials checked out from the Minerva Public Library are due on any day that the library is closed.

(January 29, 2014)  Our programs for young children are canceled for today since Minerva Local Schools are not in session due to dangerously cold weather.  The library is open 10 am to 8 pm as usual, and all other services are available.

(January 17, 2014) The library will be closed Monday, January 20, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.  No library materials checked out from the Minerva Public Library are due on any day that the library is closed. 

(January 14, 2014) Do you have an Apple device?  Are there young children at home?  Join us Tuesday, February 4, from 6:00-8:00 pm for "App Night" at the Library.  Volunteers will help you download literacy apps and e-books for children from Pre-K through 3rd grade to your updated  IPad 2 (or newer) IPad Mini, IPod Touch (4th generation or newer), or IPhone 4 (or newer).  All downloads are free to you and funded by a grant administered by Minerva Local Schools and Marlington Local Schools.  Registration is required.  Register online or call 330-868-4101.  

(December 14, 2013) The library closed at 3:00 pm this afternoon due to the heavy snow and increasingly hazardous roads.  The library will open again Monday morning at 10:00 am.
